Easter seems to have arrived very early this year, and as we prepare to celebrate it, spring has hardly got going. The message of Easter at one level is how God brought the victory of the resurrection out of what seemed to be the utter defeat of the Cross. This Easter I find myself thinking about the scene of Mary at the foot of the Cross. My heart breaks for all those mothers, children and others who in this world riven with war and despair find themselves in the same place. As the world struggles to find a way forward, our hope can only be in that resurrection, and our belief that this darkness in the end will not triumph. Serious stuff I know, and plenty to ponder. I wish you all a very happy and blessed Easter with much joy, plenty of chocolate and the good things Easter brings, temporal and Eternal! Fr Richard
