This is the first time that I have written in the Nar Valley News. The reason is simple. I am your new parish priest. I am here for everybody, not just those that come to church. So, if you see me about, do introduce yourself. The collar is a giveaway.
Don’t worry. Father Richard is staying. He is working alongside me, just as he used to work alongside Canon Stuart.
Chirs (my husband) and I left the Peterborough Diocese in July. And moved into the new Rectory on the Main Road near the Narborough crossroads. I began work on the first of August after a wonderful service led by the Bishop of Norwich at St James Castle Acre. You may have read the notice about it in the last Nar Valley News.
We already absolutely love living and working amongst you. Thank you to all who have already made us so welcome. We look forward to getting to know you all better in the coming years. And to weaving our lives in with yours.
A wise priest once said to me about joining a church, ‘I think that you will be good for them, and that they will be good for you.’ This proved to be true. I pray and expect that, by the grace of God, we will be good for one another.
Of course, I am just one of many people joining new communities to live or work. At this time of year all our young people are moving up into a new school year. And some are moving to a new school or college. Let’s pray for each one of them that, by the grace of God, their new community will be good for them and that they will be good for it. Every blessing, Angela
