SAFEGUARDING

The Nar Valley Group of Churches is committed to promoting a safer church environment and culture in our parishes, to create a safe and caring place for all including children, young people and vulnerable adults. We follow the Diocese of Norwich guidance regarding safe recruiting, training, and supporting all those fulfilling a role in the life of the church, with special regard to safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults. Each parish in the Nar Valley Group of Churches has appointed a Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO) who promotes awareness of safeguarding issues, is familiar with the guidance, is available to discuss safeguarding concerns and ensures appropriate procedures are followed. The PSO takes part in PCC meetings to advise and report on safeguarding issues and reports to the PCC at intervals. One of the PSOs liaises with the Diocese on behalf of the Group. Please contact the Rector, the Reverend Angela Hammett, tel 07160 338552 who can offer safeguarding help and who knows how to respond appropriately to a safeguarding concern or allegation. The Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor is Sue Brice, tel 01603 882345. The Diocesan Safeguarding website can be accessed at this link https://www.dioceseofnorwich.org/home/safeguarding/.
