The village of South Acre has almost disappeared. The church of St. George is one of those unspoilt treasures. The church building owes much to the endeavours of the Harsyke family. There is a magnificent alabaster and marble monument to Sir Edward Barkham former Lord Mayor of London and his wife. In the north aisle lies the effigy of a Knight Templar.
Any contributions towards maintaining this church would be much appreciated and can be sent to The treasurer - Mr James Stephenson 46,Eastfields,Narborough, Kings Lynn, PE32 Cheques should be made payable to South Acre PCC.
